Osteopathy

What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is an established system of diagnosis and treatment for a variety of musculo-skeletal problems, involving the joints, bones, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues. This aids increase in circulation which helps resolve aches, pains and injuries and allows the body to function with the minimum of wear, stress and energy.

What happens during an Osteopathy treatment?
Osteopaths use a variety of osteopathic techniques, from deep soft tissue massage, trigger point treatment (using finger pressure or acupuncture needles), to joint articulation (rhythmic movement and stretching) and manipulation techniques.

Your full medical history is taken, your posture and structural conditions carefully examined. Sometimes X-rays, blood tests or urine samples are required in which case your Osteopath will write a referral request to your GP (with your permission). Treatment may also include advice on posture, diet and lifestyle.

Osteopath - Kalla Patel at Northampton Osteopaths

Kalla made the move from the City of London law offices to Osteopathy by chance and has loved treating and improving her patient’s health since August 2008.

Chronic conditions become debilitating and depressing and most people are surprised to hear that the diagnosis is of musculo-skeletal origin and can be significantly improved by a few treatment sessions with us.

She particularly like the challenge of treating and creating specific rehabilitation programmes for junior and elite athletes and return them to their sport in optimum health.

Children are treated in a fun and friendly environment and emphasis is on keeping them happy throughout the treatment process.  Young children just do not sit still so the osteopath plays with them and moves with them where needed.

Kalla is available Tuesday 1-7pm, Thurs 12-5pm (later by appointment) and Friday 9-5pm.
